About me

I am a Belfast-based publishing professional with several years experience in publishing, ELT teaching, and marketing. I’ve been freelance for two years now, and worked in house in publishing for six years before that. I work mostly from my home office, which I share with a small, bad-tempered cat. I’m currently working towards a part time Master’s in Creative Writing at Queen’s University Belfast.

My creative writing style is imaginative, using detailed narrative plans to create engaging plots and believable characters that exist in well-developed worlds. I have a particular specialism in YA and speculative fiction, although I work across a range of genres. When copywriting for marketers, I focus on customer-centric, audience-appropriate language that catches the eye. I have experience in SEO optimisation and blog writing too!

As an editor, I am a careful worker with a particular strength in picking up inconsistencies and things that don’t make sense in your narrative context. I will provide you with direct but sensitive feedback to help you bring out the best in your writing. I’m also willing to work closely with you to find a tailored communication style that suits your needs.

I would be delighted to work with you on your publishing needs including:

  • copywriting
  • content editing
  • proofreading
  • digital checks
  • editorial project management
  • and more!

In my free time, you can find me working on my novels, at the cinema, volunteering as an EFL teacher, or getting involved in some amateur theatre.

Get in touch to discuss how I can help with any of your projects.
